A Foundation in Environmental Sciences
Our student’s story begins with a Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Sciences from Bahauddin Zakariya University. While the academic journey primarily focused on theoretical knowledge, practical experience remained lacking throughout the program. The next step took her to NUST, where she specialized in Geographic Information Systems (GIS) and Remote Sensing. Given her non-computer science background, this significant departure from her previous degree posed a challenge. However, Fatima was able to secure her master’s degree, but during this time, she realized the importance of programming skills. She had to acquire new skills to succeed in the tech-driven field of GIS and remote sensing.
Turning Point at IEC
Fortunately, she came across a social media advertisement introducing her to the Institute of Emerging Careers Data Science course. It was the perfect platform to build programming skills from the ground up. Enrolling in the program proved immensely beneficial. It completely eradicated her fear of programming tasks. As a result, she now possesses the confidence and proficiency to tackle any programming-related challenge that comes her way.
Furthermore, she has honed her professional skills, effectively presented herself in a competitive job market, and connected with like-minded individuals who help her keep up with the latest industry trends.
A Research Assistant with Vision
Today, our graduate is a Research Assistant at the National University of Sciences and Technology (NUST). The skills acquired during the IEC course continue to be helpful in her ongoing research journey.
