I began my journey as an Industrial and Manufacturing Engineer, mastering production lines and project management. Later, I faced a challenge re-entering the job market due to my outdated IT skills. Through the Bano Qabil Program, I joined IEC. I dove into courses, aced my studies, and secured a role as an academic facilitator at IEC, gaining further knowledge in data science. Now, I’m pursuing a degree in data science, and I am ready to excel in the tech world with my newfound skills.

I took the initiative to join an online bootcamp of iec recommended by someone focusing on web designing. During the course, I gained knowledge in coding, specifically HTML, CSS, and Bootstrap, as well as some insights into UI design. My experience with IEC has been incredibly rewarding. Not only did I acquire valuable skills in UX design, but I also learned how to effectively communicate with others and navigate the industry. After completing my degree, I faced challenges in finding a job, and during this time, I received an email from a university alumnus recommending IEC. Upon researching, I realized it would be beneficial for me since I had a basic understanding of web development and wanted to enhance my skills further. I enrolled in the program and began my journey. I learned a wide range of topics, with a primary focus on web development. From the basics to advanced concepts, we worked on real-time projects, allowing us to apply our knowledge in practical scenarios.

This skill has been invaluable in my job search and overall career growth. Being a healthcare student in the midst of a global health crisis, I saw everyday how data helped authorities and the general public in managing day to day tasks. I could see how deeply data science and health entwined so I set out to get better at understanding data and learning how to leverage it.
My endless LinkedIn searches finally brought me to IEC. It was then that I applied for the Data Analytics course. The entire journey at IEC can be summed up in one word: enriching. The technical sessions and learnings were no doubt excellent, the most meaningful impact for me was the ability to network and connect with a welcoming and ever supportive community. I also would like to highlight the Flip model learning approach and the constant check-ins on behalf of the advisors and instructors to keep me and other students focused.

The goal of joining IEC was to better equip my self for the freelance market. After 2 months the cohort ended I found an internship and I am doing a lot of practical work there. Its a remote based internship. The greatest benefit of IEC is that I found a community of like-minded people. I got to know many people who guided me in the right direction in the field of data analytics. In my opinion, to get the most out of the course, you need to have strong basics in programming and analytical skills.
