In February 2025, the Institute of Emerging Careers (IEC) hosted a vibrant community meetup at Sarmayacar’s office, bringing together current students, alumni, employer partners, and industry leaders. The event served as a platform to celebrate achievements, make meaningful connections, and discuss the evolving tech landscape in Pakistan.
The session kicked off with an introduction to IEC by our Director, Bilal Khan, who shared the organization’s journey, mission, and future plans. His presentation highlighted how we are empowering individuals across the nation through cutting-edge programs and personalized mentorship. He also spotlighted inspiring success stories of IEC graduates who have changed their lives through education and skills development.
Rabeel Warraich, CEO of Sarmayacar, Shark on Shark Tank Pakistan, and an IEC Board Member, followed with an engaging talk titled, “The Future of Tech & Startups in Pakistan: Where Do You Fit In?” He shared his experiences in venture capital, insights into Pakistan’s start-up ecosystem, and advice on finding opportunities in the dynamic world of tech and entrepreneurship.
Next, Salahuddin Khawaja, CEO of Deklaration and fellow IEC Board Member, shared his unique journey. From a successful career in the U.S. banking sector to his current entrepreneurial work in Pakistan, his talk was filled with practical advice and interactive discussions, making it an insightful session for all attendees.
Omer Ammer, IEC’s Placement Head, wrapped up the discussions by elaborating on IEC’s vision for the future. He emphasized how we plan to further enhance our impact through stronger industry partnerships, innovative programs, and an ever-expanding network.
The event concluded with refreshments and a lively networking session. Attendees exchanged experiences, shared ideas, and built connections in a warm, collaborative environment.
